The Secretariat administers programs delegated by the KP Health Policy Board. The programs are geared to strengthen the structures of MTIs thereby improving service level of quality and patient’s safety for all residents of KP, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.

Quality Performance Measurement System

Quality measures are standards for measuring the performance of healthcare providers, system and education institute. Quality measures can identify important aspects like safety, effectiveness, timeliness, efficiency, patient-centeredness and fairness.

Dashboards

Dashboards are used to quickly gain insights into the most important aspects of the data. Board and MTIs get real time insights and competitive analyses, and use them to identify items that require urgent action, streamlining workflows and properly purposing resources.

Compliance framework for MTIs and Audits

It is a multi-layered process that can help improve the quality of care, provide cost savings in specific areas, improve patient satisfaction, and avoid unnecessary redundancies. On behalf of the Policy Board, six MTIs were asked to submit their Self-Assessment on the Management and Governance Self-Assessment Tool.

Training

With effective and established training programs, MTI can improve their healthcare services and education quality and patient safety, it also improve retention and increase staff morale, thereby creating a positive, motivated, and competent workforce. This, in turn, improves patient satisfaction and profitability of the practice.

Standardize Policies and Programs

The purpose of standardize policies and procedures is to communicate to MTIs the desired outcomes. They help them understand their roles and responsibilities. Another purpose is to provide uniform policies for all MTIs so that there are no discrepancies.
